Experience Penticton BC

Penticton British Columbia is located in wine country in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Many people visit British Columbia a for its epic mountains and incredible hikes. However, there is another side to BC that many are still discovering.

I set out to explore interior British Columbia for 12 days and was amazed at what Penticton had to offer.  From kayaking, to biking the Kettle Valley Railway to exploring Wine Country. There was no shortage of things to do.

Here are a few of my favourite things I did while in Pentiction.

BIKE THE KETTLE VALLEY RAILWAY

The trail passes through many local vineyards and orchards, and along creeks and Okanagan Lake so there are many opportunities for breaks along the way. Take in all the beautiful scenery and go as fast or slow as you want. You can even pack a picnic and stop for lunch along the path.

BIKES: Bring your own or rent from Hoodoo Adventures.

VISIT LEGENDS DISTILLING

Legends distillery is a beautiful place to enjoy an incredible view with stunning vistas. At several points, I felt like I was somewhere in Italy. Look over wineries in the valley and enjoy sipping hand crafted cocktails with spirits made locally. Their food is also very delicious!

TIP: Try the Dirty Bee Cocktail.

KAYAK VASEUX LAKE

Take an early morning Kayak at Vaseux Lake. This lake boasts of beautiful views. We went out for sunrise and had the whole place to ourselves. Our friends at Hoodoo Adventures arranged the Kayaks for us and gave us an awesome guide who took us to the best spots. Hoodoo Adventures has many tours they offer across Pentiction and local area.

KAYAKS: Bring your own or get guided by Hoodoo Adventures.

PENTICTON FARMERS MARKET

The Farmers Market in Penticton was very impressive.  I was expecting something much smaller but it filled several streets with many vendors offering fresh food, handcrafted items and locally made products. It runs every Saturday until 1PM and is full of life, people and live music along the walkway.
